#143 Diamonds are forever

We’ve all heard the saying “Diamonds are a girl’s best friend”, but are they everyone’s best friend?

Today was spent shooting content with my sensei Xande Ribeiro while learning all about his “Diamond Guard and Diamond Concept” for his upcoming instructional on BJJ Fanatics.

Something that stood out to me was not only his deep understanding of the fundamentals in regards to positioning but that his Jiu Jitsu is at all based on fancy techniques. It’s no surprise that coming up on the age of 40 (not exactly young for most Jiu Jitsu practitioners) he is still able to not only compete with adults but dominate and submit them.

The simplicity, beauty, and strength of diamonds make it the perfect comparison for Xande’s Jiu Jitsu. Diamonds are not only one of the strongest materials in the world, like gold they are most known for their elegance and natural beauty.
