Everybody was Kung Fu Fighting #104

Many of us have seen Master Po, from the film Kung Fu Panda, embark on the a journey that pairs him up with the Furious Five and ultimately leads to his transformation of empowerment. In times like these, this age old story of Martial Arts, that has been time tested for thousands of years, couldn’t be more important for today’s youth. Especially when it comes to the kids who have already been struggling socially and are now being made to distance learn, be in front of a screen all day and exercise less. Jiu Jitsu may be the one thing to help them feel respected and loved, all while having a blast.

Also to consider, is the majority of parents and young adults who are in some way affected by the decline in socialization, physical activity while drug consumption, alcohol consumption and poor diet continue to increase. Humans are social creatures who need to feel:

Autonomy (Decision making)

Competence (Respected)

Relatedness (Connected to something or someone).

It’s easy to lose morale during times like these. One of the most important things we can cling to, are the people around us. Only in Jiu Jitsu are men, women and children of all colors, shapes, sizes and backgrounds united by a common love for fighting, sharing and working hard like any family! For those of us who don’t have a family like that, my recommendation is to join a Jiu Jitsu academy. And don’t give up if they suck, keep searching. The right home for you will give you family, warmth, and security. When you find it, you will not regret it!
